Our company runs Port Chacabuco, which is located in the area of Puerto Chacabuco, IX Region Aisén del General Carlos Ibáñez del Campo, Province and commune of Aisén.
Puerto Chacabuco is 82 km west of Aisén’s regional capital, Coyhaique, 15 km of Puerto Aysén and 1731 km south of Santiago, via Carretera Austral.

Natural Conditions of the Area
Fistly, Puerto Chacabuco’s location is privileged, both for the operation of vessels and for the transference of cargo and passengers.
Its quays stand in a very protected harbour, which can be accessed through fiords and channels that offer a safe navigation, surrounded by beautiful scenery.
The area of Puerto Chacabuco is characterized by its abundant rainfall, with an average of 3600 mm a year, and by the predominance of west winds with the following characteristics:

Intensity: 10 - 25 knots in average
Higher that 10 knots: 19%
Regarding visibility, this aspect is generally good and the days that the port has to be closed because of cloudiness are rare.
The average temperatures are 14° C (max) and 3° C (min).
The swell in the port area is low, and in very few occasions it reaches a maximum level of 0.83 mts, according to the information of the local Maritime Authority.
The tide regime of Puerto Chacabuco is mixed semidiurnal; in other words, there are two high tides and two low tides each day, with a lapse of 6 hours and 12 minutes between a high tide and the consecutive low tide.
The spring tide during syzygy is of 2.97 mts.
